If your backyard isn't big enough for a full-sized pool, a compact hydrotherapy setup is usually the best alternative. The Hamilton Spa packs six full seats into a 2.6m x 2.2m footprint, giving you a proper hot tub without eating up your whole patio. It sits at a flat 1.0m depth, shallow enough for easy cleaning, but deep enough to keep adults completely submerged.
You can run it as a standalone spa on a concrete pad or recessed deck. Alternatively, pool builders frequently drop it right next to a main fibreglass pool as a spillover feature, so warm water cascades over the edge into the main body.
Our Hamilton Spa is moulded with a vinyl ester resin barrier behind the gelcoat. That barrier stops moisture from creeping into the structural fibreglass, which is what causes osmotic blistering in cheaper shells.
Hydrotherapy Layout & Low-Maintenance Features
Rather than crowding the floor with extra moulded steps, the seating layout keeps things open while still fitting targeted jets where you actually need them.
Targeted Back & Foot Jets: Positioned along the corner seats to hit sore muscles after work or training.
Fast Heat-Up Times: It only holds about 2,200 litres. A standard gas heater or electric heat pump brings it up to temperature in a fraction of the time a full pool takes, which keeps power bills manageable.
Step Access: Recessed, textured entry steps make getting in and out easy for kids and older family members.
Non-Porous Gelcoat: The inner surface is completely smooth. Algae can't grip the walls, so you won't need to spend your Saturdays scrubbing or throwing in excessive chemicals.
Flexing Strength: Reactive clay soils expand during wet weather and contract when it dries out. Concrete snaps under that pressure; fibreglass simply flexes with the ground.
Installation Options & Council Safety Compliance
Because it’s a smaller unit, installation is quick. Contractors can drop it flush into timber decking, set it in-ground, or place it elevated on a slab.
Keep in mind that Australian safety laws (AS 1926.1) apply here just like any swimming pool. You'll need:
Compliant safety fencing with a self-closing gate (or an approved, lockable hard cover).
Local council sign-off before filling it.
A standard CPR sign mounted in plain view.
